President of RK at Haileybury school

Astana, 6 December 2008, (Khabar) - The head of state has visited the Haileybury partnership British school in Almaty and became acquainted with both educational and extra-curricular activities, the architectural peculiarities of the building and the modern equipment in the classrooms. Haileybury is the first charity project in Kazakhstan created by people in the area of education. This school is similar to the one in Great Britain whose graduates included the UK prime minister from 1945-1950, Clement Attlee and the famous writer Rudyard Kipling. Currently, 14 children are studying at the school which has graduates from other branches who have entered Cambridge University and the London School of Economics. The Almaty branch of this school joined the experience of two countries that will help graduates of Haileybury to receive quality education corresponding to international standards. All subjects in the school are held in English. The school also ensures that the children are taught the Kazakh language and the history and culture of Kazakhstan. At 16 years old, the students will receive an International Certificate in higher education and will be studying another two years under the International baccalaureate programme. Graduates of this school have good chances of entering any university of the world.
