Palace of Independence is pride of Kazakhstan
Astana, 18 December 2008, (Khabar) - The idea of construction of this unique palace belongs to the head of the state. Its area is 60 000 square meters, large halls, galleries, museums and cinemas. The first large event that took place here, was sitting of heads of governments of SCO (Shanghai Cooperation Organization). Hundreds of people from China, Russia and other member-states of SCO were impressed with large halls and colors of interior. The foreign journalists said the Palace of Independence is a real pearl that appeared in Kazakhstan during one year.

- The peculiarity of construction is that it is like of metal and from glass – inside. It attract attention at once. Each of halls is unique, for example, large chandelier in oval President’s hall for sittings consists of 440 000 crystal stones. We built this building qualitatively and during short period of time. There are no such palaces in the world.
This palace coincides luxury and high tech ideas of 21st century and each hall shows possibilities of string state.
Kanat Tokesbai, deputy director of Palace of Independence:
- Currently the Palace of Independence has all necessary equipment, it has rooms for interpreters, color and sound equipment. Everything answers the demands of such sittings and actions.
Exposition halls are at upper floors of the palace. The gallery will have pictures of not only Kazakhstani but also foreign painters. There are several museums in the palace. Ethnography, history of Kazakhstan, history of development of Astana, and large model of young Kazakhstani capital impressed image of Vladimir Putin, PM of Russia and Wen Jiabao, Chinese politician.
