Big atlas on history and culture of Kazakhstan is published

Almaty, 19 December 2008, (Khabar) - A big atlas of the history and culture of Kazakhstan has been published in the country for the first time with a team of outstanding local and Russian scientists having worked on it for 2 years. The result of their work is impressive: about 1000 illustrated pages detailing the interesting events of the country’s history and sensational archeological finds. The most extensive geographical data can be picked up from there and it is possible to get to know fascinating details of the main stages of the development of the regions starting from ancient times up until present.
The atlas includes around 140 ancient maps, almost 4 thousand pictures and rare archive materials. Due to new scientific and artistic methods, it is possible to see how Attila, a powerful leader of Huns or the Kazakh khan Zhanibek looked in reality as well as the way people lived and dressed in various eras.

Karl Baipakov, chairman of editorial board of Big atlas of history and culture of Kazakhstan:
- Kazakhstan joined the highly developed countries and swiftly became recognizable throughout the world. Naturally, this kind of publication provides a chance not only for local readers but also foreign ones to get to know our country better. I think it will also be published in English which is a requirement due to which Kazakhstan will be more known throughout the world.
