SECRET OF SUCCESS FOR WOMEN ENTREPRENEURS

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 12 (Bernama) -- Family and friends should be the first
source of financing for a budding entrepreneur wanting to start a business so
that there is less pressure to pay back the loan immediately.

"Don't ask for money from banks or take a loan from elsewhere," said
Tayyibah Taylor, the editor-in-chief of Azizah, a US-based women magazine.

She said it would be helpful to have enough revenue, financial stability and
to look for investors if necessary.

There are not enough women entrepreneurs highlighted in the media to be role
models and mentors for budding women entrepreneurs, Taylor said during a
90-minute digital video conference from Atlanta, Georgia, US.

According to her, role models and mentors are necessary to teach
entrepreneurship to young women entrepreneurs.

She gave a recipe of three P's -- planning, passion and persistence -- to
become a successful entrepreneur.

Planning is essential for entrepreneurs while passion is a motivating factor
and persistence is a taking one step at a time, she added.

Taylor said some businesses will feel the pinch during an economic slowdown
while a number of others will able to thrive.

But all entrepreneurs should still be prepared for an upswing of the global
economy, she said.
