Ministerial Council for Services approves swine flu precautions
The Ministerial Council for Services on Sunday gave directions to the Ministry of Health to take all preventive and precautionary measures and coordinate with all relevant authorities in order to prevent the entry of any H1N1 (swine flu) cases in to the UAE.
This came at a meeting chaired by Minister of Presidential Affairs and Chairman of the Ministerial Council for Services H.H Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed al-Nahyan.
The meeting also discussed a report prepared by Minister of Health Humaid al-Qattami the emergency meeting of health ministers of member countries of Gulf Cooperation Council in Doha, Qatar.
The Council approved a unified strategy to counter swine flu. At the same meeting, the Council has also approved the launch of a 2-year national initiative to stiffen control of insecticides and rodenticides in the UAE.
A federal bill to amend federal Law 23/1999 on water resources. The bill aims to rationalize the consumption of water was also approved by the Council at Sunday's meeting.
