Three children arriving from New York quarantined for suspected flu

SEOUL, May 24 (Yonhap) -- South Korea quarantined three child passengers arriving
here from New York on Sunday morning, suspecting they may have been infected with
type-A influenza, officials said.

The children, who were born in the United States but whose parents are Korean,
were isolated after showing symptoms during an inspection at Incheon
International Airport, west of Seoul, officials at the Korea Centers for Disease
Control and Prevention said. They have been placed under observation in a nearby
facility, they said.
On Saturday, South Korea confirmed two additional cases of the disease after an
American English teacher and her South Korean roommate showed symptoms. The total
number of confirmed new flu cases in the country is now six.
Health authorities say they are trying to track down about 70 individuals who
came into contact with the American woman since she arrived in the country on May
16.
Out of the 70, seven people -- including the Korean roommate -- have been
quarantined after showing flu-like symptoms.
