Yemen navy rescues Somali vessel carrying 1000 livestock

ADEN, May 27 (Saba) - Yemen's navy rescued Wednesday a Somali vessel
carrying more than 1000 livestock after it had a technical fault 12
nautical miles off the port city of Aden.

Deputy Director of the Coat Guard, Aden, Abdul Rahman Mousa said the
vessel was towed with its cargo peacefully to the Aden port.

A Yemeni-Greek Ship Rescue Company was announced this month in Aden
and would repair ships which may have technical faults in sea in
addition to fighting pollution either in Yemen's territorial waters
or international waters.

Launching the joint venture, director general of the company said
Yemen holds a 56 percent share in the company while Greece holds 44
percent.

Ahmed Abdullah Nashwan said the company would accomplish its duties
within the Aden port but it can transcend the identified sphere to
reach vessels in international waters.

The company would also work to transport equipment for Yemeni ports
including the Balhaf port where the Yemen LNG giant project is
expected to start operations this year, he said.
