WB : INDONESIA'S SPENDINGS ON HEALTHCARE TOO SMALL

Jakarta, May 28 (ANTARA) - The World Bank disclosed that the budget allocation for healthcare in Indonesia was still too small compared to those in some other countries of equal income.

World Bank Country Director for Indonesia Joachim von Amsberg said in Jakarta Wednesday that a report issued by the international institution said that of the total annual budget, Indonesia's spendings on this sector did not exceed 2 percent of the GDP.

Of the total national spendings of 2 percent of the GDP, half is allocated from government sources and one-third from the budget for family healthcare, with the government's own contribution of only 5 percent of the total spendings under the State Budget.
