VIETNAM CONFIRMS TWO MORE A (H1N1) FLU PATIENTS



Hanoi (VNA) - The Ministry of Health on June 1 confirmed two more A (H1N1) flu
patients, bringing the country?s total cases infected with the H1N1 virus to
three, all from overseas and detected in Ho Chi Minh City .


The ministry reported that a mother and her child who tested positive to the H1N1
virus have returned from the US . They were not among 189 passengers who were on
the same flight with the first patient, said the ministry.


The same day, it held an emergency meeting with members of the National Steering
Committee on Influenza in Humans to discuss measures against the spread of the
epidemic and prepare facilities for timely treatment.

So far, 56 people in the world have contracted the H1N1 virus and Vietnam is
the 54 th country hit by the virus with the first case reported on May 31.


The 23-year-old student is now in stable condition and still in isolation at the
Ho Chi Minh City ?s Tropical Disease hospital, said the municipal Health
