Two confirmed cases of swine flu in TN: official

Coimbatore, June 9 (PTI) About 2.2 lakh people, who
returned from abroad to various places in Tamil Nadu over the
past few days, have been screened for swine flu and of these
two persons have tested positive for the virus, a top health
official Tuesday said.

A 34-year-old woman and her five-year-old son, who had
come from US to Coimbatore on May 28, had tested positive for
the A(H1N1) virus, Tamil Nadu Health Secretary Subburaj told
reporters here.

The two are being treated at the Coimbatore Medical
College Government Hospital and would be discharged in a
couple of days, Subburaj said.

The official said serious measures are being taken to
prevent the spread of flu in the state. PTI NVM
