Indian-American doctors can make a big difference:Harshwardhan

Orlando (US), June 13 (PTI) Indian-American doctors, with
their immense expertise and technological knowhow, need to
come forward in a big way to build up health care a social
movement in India, Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)
president Dr Harshwardhan said here.

An accomplished physician himself, Dr Harshwardhan,
addressing the 27th annual convention of the American
Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (AAPI), said there
is need to strengthen, prevention and development of positive
health attitude in the country.

"If AAPI takes up the big role, it will make a lot of
difference," Harshwardhan, the former Health Minister of
Delhi, who is attending the meet in his personal capacity said
Friday in his address to some 900 Indian-American physicians
participating the annual convention of AAPI which began in
this Disneyland township in Florida on Wednesday.

"I can say that people in India and more particularly our
doctor colleagues have great respect for AAPI people and great
hopes from AAPI people," he said and applauded the various
projects undertaken by the Indian American doctors to improve
health care facilities in the country.

"What you have been trying to do in the last few years
and more particularly in the recent past, has been applauded
by everyone in the country," he said. PTI
