UNPFA to support Yemen encountering population challenges



SANA'A, June 15 (Saba) - United Nations Population Fund (UNPFA)
affirmed here on Monday the Fund's adherence to support the
government to encounter the population challenges.

During his meeting with Prime Minister Ali Mujawar, the UNPFA
Regional Director Hafedh Chekir said that the Fund is ready to
enhance its support to the government's exerted efforts,
particularly in the programs of improving reproductive health and
woman issues and the requirements to integrate them into the
development process.

The meeting discussed the cooperation relations between Yemen and
UNPFA in fields of population policy and the programs concerning
reproductive health, which aim at reducing mortality amid infant and
maternal.

Prime Minister appreciated the partnership between Yemen and UNPFA
to face the population challenges, pinning his hope for more
cooperation to enhance the joint efforts, especially in areas of the
reproductive health.
