PM: it is important to promote university researches, studies

SANA'A, June 17 (Saba) - Prime Minister Ali Mujawar affirmed on
Wednesday importance of promoting the university researches and
studies towards all issues concerning the state and society.

Opening the First Engineering Festival activities organized by
Sana'a University in cooperation with Architects Society, Mujawar
confirmed the government's support to the efforts of universities to
promote the reality of researches and studies.

The Premier indicated that the matter of researches and studies and
education quality is on the top of government's priorities, which
should be focused on enhancing university education outputs and to
make distinct cadres for contributing efficiently to the development
as well as convoying the qualitative requirements in the local and
Arab labour markets.

He hoped the engineering festival becomes annual tradition towards
more activities so as to link the university with development
partners from ministries, unions, civil society organizations and
national capitals.

The Premier directed the concerned authorities to speed up
finalizing the procedures for constructing the second phase of the
engineering college building in the university and providing it with
all necessary equipments.

He expressed his confidence that Ministry of Higher Education and
Scientific Research and its institutions realize the significance of
promoting aspects of researches and studies especially under the law
of higher education approved by the cabinet last Tuesday.

The law stipulated establishing Trustees Board for the governmental
universities, a Supreme Council for Higher Education and a Council
for Academic Accreditation, which aim at raising the academic role
and improving higher education outputs.
