Moroccan Conjoined Twins separation surgery starts in Riyadh

Riyadh, June 20, SPA -- The surgical separation of Moroccan conjoined
twins Azizah and Saeedah started at King Abdulaziz Medical City of
The National Guard here on Saturday morning in implementation of the
order of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin
Abdulaziz Al Saud to perform the operation at his personal expense.

A Saudi specialist medical team headed by Minister of Health Dr.
Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Rabia' is performing the operation in seven
stages expected to take nearly 15 hours.

A medical check-up conducted on the twins showed that they were
conjoined via liver, pancreas, liver-canals, a part of duodenum and
upper part of small intestine.
