MENA Diabetes Medical Congress Wraps Up

 
Doha, November 18 (QNA) - The Qatar Diabetes Association (QDA) concluded the two-day MENA Diabetes Medical Congress 2023 with an emphasis on the importance of self-care, pursue of a healthy, balanced lifestyle, and avoidance of obesity to prevent the disease and reduce its complications and risks. QDA Executive Director Dr. Abdullah Al Hamaq affirmed that the conference was a success by all standards both in terms of the large number of participants including diabetologists, endocrinologists, diabetes educators, neurologists, general practitioners, cardiologists, and dieticians from Qatar and beyond, and in terms of working papers, presentations and research, and the meaningful discussions on all that related to diabetes. Talking to Qatar News Agency (QNA), Dr. Al Hamaq said the conference covered over two days vital topics that emphasized self-care, the importance of prevention and awareness of the diabetes risks and complications, and the latest treatment methods used in this field, indicating that the conference was part of the activities organized by the association marking World Diabetes Day, which the world celebrates on Nov. 14 every year. He noted that the conference provided participants with the opportunity to exchange ideas and information related to diabetes, including new treatments and following the instructions of the physician according to each disease case. The conference discussed efforts in diabetes treatment, related complications, technology, and disease prevention. It covered various topics, including new policies and strategies for combating diabetes, innovative approaches to managing its complications, the latest research on diabetes in children, and new treatments for type 2 diabetes, among other important subjects.
