Iran, Turkiye to review Aras border river issues
Tehran, IRNA – The second Iran-Turkiye Cooperation Committee meeting will be held on November 19 on the issues of water shares in the Aras River.
The second Iran-Turkiye Cooperation Committee meeting on the issues related to the water shares in Aras will be chaired by Mohammad Javanbakht, Iranian Deputy Minister of Energy for Water and Wastewater Affairs, and Ebubekir Gizligider, Turkish Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, on November 18, 2023.
The two sides will discuss bilateral ties and issues of mutual interests, including determination of frameworks and necessary mechanisms for the development of joint water cooperation between the two countries.
The incumbent government in Iran made a lot of efforts to attract the Turkish authorities’ attention in solving joint water problems between the two countries, especially in the Aras River, and the upcoming joint meeting will be organized in the Iranian capital city of Tehran on Sunday.
