Climate Envoy Al-Jubeir at COP28: World Moving in the Right Direction to Address Climate Change

Riyadh, December 04, 2023, SPA -- The Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Member of the Cabinet, and Climate Envoy, Adel Al-Jubeir, participated today via video conference in a panel discussion during the launch of the third edition of the Saudi Green Initiative (SGI) Forum.
The forum took place on the sidelines of the 28th UN Climate Change Conference (COP28) in Dubai, UAE.
During the panel discussion, Al-Jubeir expressed that the world is moving in the right direction to tackle climate change challenges. He highlighted the constructive dialogues, plans, and ambitious policies being set to achieve this goal in light of the availability of relevant technologies and resources.
Al-Jubeir underlined the importance of global cooperation, sharing expertise, and engaging in open dialogue to address climate change challenges effectively.
Furthermore, Al-Jubeir showcased the Kingdom’s comprehensive approach in confronting climate challenges, including the launch of the SGI and the Middle East Green Initiative, along with over 80 programs. He highlighted the Kingdom’s commitment to investing US$186 billion to achieve this goal.
The Kingdom will continue to explore further actions to serve climate issues, added Al-Jubeir.
