Al-Mandalawi Calls On The Parliaments Participating In The South-South Parliamentary Cooperation Conference To Put Pressure On Their Governments To End The Aggression Against Gaza

Baghdad / NINA /- The President of the Arab Parliamentary Union, Acting Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, stressed the need for the parliaments participating in the South-South Parliamentary Cooperation Conference to influence the foreign policy of their governments, by exerting pressure in various international forums in order to end the Zionist aggression against Gaza and the suffering of its people, stressing that peace and stability in Gaza is the basis for peace and stability in the region and the world.

In a speech he delivered today, during his participation in the South-South Parliamentary Cooperation Conference hosted by Morocco, in the presence of the heads of national parliaments and the regional and continental parliamentary unions in Africa, the Arab world and the Latin American region, Mandalawi called for parliamentary diplomacy to have the primary role in encouraging bilateral and multilateral cooperation between participating countries, in a way that enhances political dialogue, bilateral and collective relations, achieves common interests and regional security, and establishes strategic partnerships in various fields, foremost among which is sustainable development for the stability and security of our countries.

The Speaker of the Arab Parliament called for rejecting and condemning the repeated aggression against the countries of the region, especially Iraq, Syria, Yemen and Lebanon, and the attempts to drag the region into a comprehensive war to cover up the aggression of the Zionist entity, pointing to the necessity of joint action to establish the rule of law and the Charter of Nations regulating relations between different peoples, civilizations and cultures, standing in the face of the continuing attempts to impose economic restrictions on our countries and peoples.

He stressed that one of the most important goals of the meetings of decision-makers, whether they are government representatives or representatives of parliaments in international forums, is the sustainability of international and regional peace and security, and the development of friendly relations between countries, peoples and nations on the basis of respect and mutual interests.

Al-Mandalawi renewed his rejection and condemnation of the attacks carried out by the Zionist occupation forces in Gaza and their flagrant violation of human rights and moral, humanitarian and religious values, and of all international legitimate resolutions and principles of international humanitarian law, in a barbaric and terrorist aggression carried out by its bloody military machine against the Palestinian people, especially civilian children, women and the elderly, as part of its attempts to bend the will of the people and practice ethnic cleansing and forced displacement, reiterating his firm and principled position on the Palestinian issue, which is based on a vision and a firm belief in the right of the Palestinians to establish their independent state with Al-Quds as its capital./End
