PM: No Development Renaissance Can Arise Unless It Starts From Education

Baghdad / NINA /- Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani stressed: “No development renaissance can arise unless it starts from education.”

Al-Sudani said, during the Ambition and Creativity Forum held this Thursday morning: “At the beginning of the government’s work, we launched the National Strategy for Education 2022-2030, which is an action map to increase quality and efficiency, and includes all institutions of society. We started with 5,000 scholarship students, and we began working, and today we are witnessing the first batch of our children and nominating them to advanced universities to improve the scientific reality and provide our institutions with the required skills, through a qualitative scholarship for what we need.”

He explained that: “The goal is not to increase the number of higher certificates, as much as we need higher certificates and specializations that meet the requirements of the government program and enable us to keep pace with the world,” indicating: “We need to keep pace with the rapid development in the education sector, to confront the challenges of the past stage, wars, sieges, and terrorism, which caused a gap between Iraq and the world.”

He added: "The education sector has always been present in our program, and no development renaissance can arise unless it starts from education. Our students have been deprived for many years of studying abroad and keeping pace with the development of international universities."

Al-Sudani urged the scholarship students to be serious, dedicated, study, and research, addressing them by saying: “Obtaining higher degrees is an achievement for you and your families, just as it is an achievement for the country. You are ambassadors who represent Iraq throughout the period of your scholarship, and you reflect the reality of Iraq and the values and principles it carries. You are Iraqis who represent your country in best representation. You must ideally invest time and effort in study, scientific research, and achieving the set goals. We will take care of all the requirements and what is necessary for the success of your mission through our embassies and our follow-up of the scholarship program.”

He continued: "It is important that you choose research that addresses the Iraqi reality and enables us to move our national development programs forward. We do not want the previous mistakes in the educational initiative to be repeated, and the problems that some students made by not returning, and they put us in legal suffering that even their families suffered from."

He concluded his speech by saying: “Your return to serving Iraq is a sincere expression of belonging, loyalty and social responsibility.”/ End
