Porsche Wins Qatar Airways 1812km, Marking 1st Round of 2024 FIA World Endurance Championship

Doha, March 02 (QNA) - Porsche Penske Motorsport took the first win of the 2024 FIA World Endurance Championship season after leading for the majority of today's Qatar Airways 1812km.
The milestone marked the first opening of the three-day 2024 FIA World Endurance Championship hosted by Lusail International Circuit with the participation of 111 international endurance legends.
This was the first victory of the German Porsche for the team that comprised the French driver Kevin Estre, German Andre Lotterer and Belgian Laurens Vanthoor who managed to win the title of the main race of the WEC Hypercar class, which witnessed the participation of 19 teams, after finishing the main 10-hour race.
The German team ranked first after drubbing the 10-driver British team, with the Porsche 6 dominating the race from the mid of the second hour of the ten-hour race, when an error occurred from the Peugeot 9. (QNA)
