Raisi plants sapling to mark National Tree Planting Day

Tehran, IRNA – Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi has planted tree saplings on the occasion of the National Tree Planting Day.

In celebration of this day, which Iran observes on March 5, President Raisi said that one billion trees will be planted during his tenure.

He highlighted the successful implementation of Tehran’s green belt plan, a project spearheaded by the Tehran municipality, saying that hectares of land in Tehran, a city also impacted by pollutants, have been adorned with trees.

President Raisi emphasized the importance of The One Billion Tree Planting Project and urged all branches of his government to diligently support its execution.

This initiative, spanning from 2021 to 2025, aims to boost Iran’s green cover by planting trees across the country.
