Symposium on Improving Accuracy of Earthquake and Tidal Wave Forecast Held

Pyongyang, March 28 (KCNA) -- A symposium on improving the accuracy of earthquake and tidal wave forecast in the East Sea of Korea was held on March 26 and 27 under the sponsorship of the Korean Marine Society of the C.C., General Federation of Science and Technology of Korea.
Present at the symposium were scientists, technicians and teachers of Kim Il Sung University, the State Hydro-meteorological Administration, Pyongyang Hydro-meteorological College and other units.
The symposium heard valuable proposals made by scientists and technicians, and a question-and-answer session and speeches were made there.
The participants listened to the research findings conducive to improving the accuracy of forecasting all marine disasters and shared good experiences.
During the symposium, there was a video show dealing with the danger of earthquake and tidal wave and the countermeasures. -0-
