Agreement Signed on Training Saudi Youth on Automobile
Technology and Maintenance

Jeddah, June 26, SPA--An agreement was signed here on Thursday on
training Saudi youth on automobile technology and maintenance and on
providing Saudi-Japanese Higher Automobile Institute with Japanese
experts, equipment and technology.

The agreement was signed by Assistant Director-General of Automobile
Department at Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry Maskey
Matzoda, and Deputy Governor for Training at Technical and
Vocational Training Corporation Dr. Hamad bin Okla Al-Okla and the
Institute's Executive Director Salem bin Hassan Al-Asmari.
The agreement is one of the fruits of the visit of the Custodian of
the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to Japan in
1998, during which the two sides agreed to establish the first
Saudi-Japanese Automobile higher Institute for preparing Saudi cadres
for Saudi labor market which needs more than 100,000 specialists in
this field.
In a statement following the signing ceremony, the Corporation's
Governor Dr. Ali bin Nasser Alghufeis commended cooperation existing
with the Japanese side in transferring automobile maintenance
technology to Saudi youth, also praising the quality of training
provided by the Institute as the first non-profitable institute
established in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
