"Caspian Sky-2024" joint tactical exercise conducted

In accordance with the training plan for 2024 approved by Minister of Defense Zakir Hasanov, the Air Force and Naval Forces conducted the "Caspian Sky-2024" joint tactical exercise aimed at organizing air defense, the Ministry of Defense told AZERTAC.

In total, up to 300 military personnel, combat, guard, command and control ships, boats, combat helicopters and unmanned aerial vehicles were involved in the tactical exercise.

According to the plan, the ships, which departed from their bases on alert, together with the Air Force’s aircraft, carried out combat tasks aimed at organizing air defense of the maritime energy infrastructure, destroying imaginary enemy objects, etc., in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea.

Additionally, tasks such as anchoring and weighing anchor of ship tactical groups, organizing defense against air attacks, and conducting underwater diversion operations were successfully carried out during the exercise.

Throughout the two-stage tactical exercise, the military personnel of the Air Force and Naval Forces demonstrated high professionalism in accomplishing all tasks.
