Tideland Reclamation Brisk in DPRK

Pyongyang, May 4 (KCNA) -- Soldier-builders successfully completed the first waterproofing project for reclaiming the Sokhwa Tideland on May 3, taming the rough sea.
The completion of the project paved the path for completing the reclamation ahead of schedule.
Soldier-builders made a breakthrough in the project by carrying on heavy and small blasting after starting their advance for the new year with the blasting of 200 000 cubic meters of earth.
They ensured the full operation of equipment and secured rubble and earth necessary for the first waterproof project by applying advanced methods to tunneling and blasting.
They also produced more than 8 000 cubic meters of earth and stones on a daily average and ensured the quality and speed of the project.
Advanced filling method was introduced to prevent the bottom scour of the closure part and wire cylinders were thrown into sea intensively to provide favorable conditions for the project.
Drivers cut down the stay time of their trucks to ensure 700 rounds of transport every day to carry more rubble stones and earth.
Soldier-builders are speeding up the construction, making uninterrupted innovations and advance to hasten the reclamation of the tideland. -0-
