Spring Farming Work Brisk in DPRK

 Pyongyang, May 7 (KCNA) -- All the people of the DPRK have turned out in the spring farming work, in hearty response to the decision of the Ninth Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea.
Officials of ministries, national agencies and relevant fields took the lead in the drive for giving assistance to farming.
Public officials went to farms in South Hwanghae Province to learn about the problems arising in the farming process and take timely steps to solve them.
Those of the Ministry of Metallurgical Industry learned in detail about the situation of the farm in charge and sent 400 tractor accessories of 14 kinds and more than 1 500 small and medium farm implements to it.
Ministries and national agencies have paid big efforts to helping farmers in their living and sprucing up the appearance of farms.
Officials and workers in the power and chemical industries and other relevant sectors are fulfilling their responsibility and duties in carrying out the grain production plan for this year.
Workers in the coal industry have devoted themselves to making fertilizer production units operate at full capacity.
The machine-building industry and farm machine factories across the country are speeding up the production and supply of efficient tractors and farm machines. The railway transport and land and marine transport sectors are taking positive measures to transport farming materials to the relevant areas promptly.
Provinces, cities and counties, too, are striving to render material assistance to the countryside by tapping all reserves and possibilities in the regions.
The families of servicemen of the Korean People's Army are devoting their sincerity to farming. -0-
