Rssn govt to introduce state registration of prices for vital medicines

MOSCOW, July 30 (Itar-Tass) - Russian government is working on a
resolution that will introduce a mandatory registration of prices of vital
medicines, a government source told Itar-Tass.
The document will be examined Thursday at a regular meeting of the
cabinet of ministers, he said.

.Russia's budget spending to go down 25 prcnt in 2010.

MOSCOW, July 30 (Itar-Tass) - Russian government has taken a decision
to slash a number of federal programs and investment projects as of 2010
in the light of a general cutting down of expenditure, a government source
told Itar-Tass.
On the whole, the spending will go down 27.4%.
Thursday, the cabinet of ministers will examine the guidelines of the
state budgetary policy for the years 2010 through 2012.
"In the first place, the slashing of expenditure will concern support
for the national economy and the various subsidies issued to
manufacturers," the source said.

.Moldova's Pres points out good organization of parliamentary election.

CHISINAU, July 30 (Itar-Tass) - Wednesday's early parliamentary
election in Moldova was well organized and no serious infringements on the
law were registered in the course of voting, President Vladimir Voronin
said.
"We managed to organize a truly democratic and civilized election," he
said. "Even if there was something incorrect, it was only at the technical
level or at the level of behavior of separate citizens."
Voronin stressed the importance of properly organized and conducted
election for the ruling Communist Party.
The chief of the European parliament observers' mission, Marian Jean
Marinescu also told reporters that the voting procedure at polling
stations was generally free of major problems,
Although some shortcomings exist practically at every station, they
are not something out of the ordinary, Marinescu said.

.Moscow jury panel issues guilty verdict on medical corruption case.

MOSCOW, July 30 (itar-Tass) - A jury panel at Moscow City Court has
issued a guilty verdict in a case over corruption in the Federal Fund for
Mandatory Medical Insurance, court spokeswoman Anna Usachova said.
The jury got down to discussing the verdict Tuesday but managed to
take the final decision on it only after 01:00 hours Wednesday, she said.

.Quarter of ballots in Moldova's election processed, Communists
leading.

CHISINAU. July 30 (Itar-Tass) - After the processing of 24% ballots
cast in Wednesday's early parliamentary election in Moldova, the Communist
party is in the lead with 50% of all votes, officials at the country's
Central Electoral Commission told Itar-Tass.
The Liberal Democratic Party is next on the list with 14.1% votes.
Standing next in line is the Democratic Party (13%), the Liberal Party
(10.7%), and Our Moldova Alliance (7.4%).
Other political parties appear to have failed to get over the 5%
qualification barrier.
President Vladimir Voronin told a news conference after the end of
voting he does not rule the possibility of setting up a coalition in
parliament.
"The issue of a broad parliamentary coalition is never too late to put
up," he said. "It's needed in this country for putting an end to all the
divisions that continue for almost half a year already."

.Quakes measuring 3 to 4 pts registered in Southern Kurile islands.

YUZHNO-SAKHALINSK, July 30 (Itar-Tass) - A total of two earthquakes
have been registered on the islands of the Southern Kurile chain.
Quakes measuring 3.0 points to 4.0 points on the open-ended Richter
scale were felt in the towns of Yuzhno-Kurilsk on the island of Kunashir
and Malokurilsk on the island of Shikotan.
Experts at the Yuzhno-Kurilsk seismic station said the first quake
occurred at 22:04 local time /11:04 GMT/ July 29. It had a magnitude of
4.8 points.
The second quake with the magnitude of 3.9 points was registered 20
minutes later.
Both earthquakes lasted 15 seconds, causing no victims, destructions
or threat of a tsunami.
In the meantime, the Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of
Sciences assigned a more than 5.0-point magnitude to both earthquakes.
The seismic focuses of the cataclysms were located 50 kilometers to 60
kilometers deep in the earth crust near Kunashir.

.Kyrgyzstan opposition leaders to make kilometers-long march of
protest.

BISHKEK, July 30 (Itar-Tass) - Leaders and activists of Kyrgyzstan's
opposition parties who are discontent with the results of the July 23
presidential election plan holding a many-kilometers-long march of protest
Thursday, spokespeople for the staff of the United Popular Movement, the
organizer of the march told Itar-Tass.
The action is due to begin at 10:00 hours local time near the building
occupied by the party's staff in the capital Bishkek. Its participants
will then head towards the city of Balykchi with demands to release their
associates who have been arrested there.
About twenty people were taken to custody in Balykchi on the day of
the presidential election for an attempt to seize a polling station and
the city mayoralty.
The United Popular Movement claims, however, these people are being
persecuted on political grounds.
The automobile road between Bishkek and Balykchi, located in the
neighboring Issyk-Kul region, is 180 kilometers long and a sizable part of
it lies in the narrow mountainous Boom Gorge.
July 31 and August 1, the Issyk-Kul region will play host to an
informal summit of the CIS Collective Security Treaty Organization, and
that is why the authorities have deployed an additional 5,000-strong
police force there
Indefinite mass actions of protest that the opposition initially
scheduled for July 29 did not take place in practical terms, although the
police detained 42 people.
Official data says the incumbent President, Kurmanbek Bakiyev received
about 77% votes in last week's presidential election.
His closest rival, opposition candidate Atambayev got a mere 8.4%
votes.
