NEWS FROM KHOVD

Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/ The most distant three soums of Khovd aimag--Altai, Bulgan and Uyench--which are some 300 km far from the central city of the aimag, will be connected to permanent line of electricity soon, the MONTSAME's reporter to the province reported Monday.
A few months ago, a working group led by G.Nyamdavaa, governor of Khovd province, established an agreement with the Chinese side on running electricity line from China's Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region to these soums.
An initiative on the agreement belongs to the Speaker of Mongolia D.Demberel who sounded it during his working tour in Khovd province to the Chinese officials.
In accordance with the agreement, the Mongolian consumers must do prepayment in order to get electricity, otherwise the supply will be cut off. One kilowatt/hour electricity costs CNY 0.65.
Now that these soums get power, the aimag has become fully supplied with the energy.
