LAOS PRAISES OVERSEAS VIETNAMESE'S FIRM
Vientiane, June 5 (KPL) - Lao government has praised an overseas Vietnamese's company for contribution to Laos and economic development, according to Vietnam News Agency.
The coffee-trading Dao Heuang Group is emerging as a prosperous business in Laos and held its 10th anniversary of establishment in the Lao capital Vientiane on May 31.
Addressing the ceremony, Standing Deputy Prime Minister Somsavat Lengsavad and other senior ministry, national assembly and city members congratulated the company for its success and contribution to the country's economy.
Daoheuang Group currently exports to Poland, Vietnam , Thailand , Japan and the Republic of Korea. Last year its export turnover reached US$10 million.
The company now has 250 hectares of coffee and is scheduled to plant another 200 hectares in southern Laos.
Daoheuang Group was set up in 2007 with its precursor Daoheuangexport-import company founded in 1992.
For many years it has opened duty-free shops in Vientiane, Borikhamsay, Savannakhet and Champassak and it plans to open others in northern provinces of Phongsaly and Sayaboury.
