GAS SALES IN 12-KG CYLINDERS DOWN

Bandung, Dec 14 (ANTARA) - The sale of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) in 12-kg cylinders has fallen 20-30 percent after the government raised its prices three months ago, a spokesman said.

"Since the government raised the price of LPG in 12-kg cylinders many LPG customers have turned to 3-kg cylinders," Secretary General of the National Oil and Gas Entrepreneurs Association (Hisnawa Migas) Dada Amir Hamzah said on Monday.

He said almost all LPG agents saw a drop in the sales of LPG in 12-kg cylinders because the raw materials of LPG in 3-kg cylinders were cheaper than those of 12-kg cylinders.

Even some of the LPG customers who switched to 3-kg cylinders came from the middle to upper classes in the community, he said.
