GCC Inter-Connection Grid Comes On-Time: Omani Minister responsible for Foreign Affairs

Kuwait, December 15, 2009, SPA -- Omani Minister responsible for Foreign Affairs
Yousuf bin Alawi Abdullah said here on Monday that the GCC Inter-Connection Grid
Project, which was launched tonight came on time.


In a statement to Kuwait's News Agency "KUNA", he said that such projects are means
of integration and secure common interests at the level of cooperation between
member countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).


He added that tests have shown that when joint projects such as the
Inter-Connection Grid and a railway project linking all GCC countries got a smooth
start-up, then there would surely be a huge growth in energy potentials as well as
communities and new generations would highly benefit by depending on such
experiences.


He said it is true that many countries have enough energy resources, but this
project will add additional capacity and will bring about an added value to benefit
everyone.
