Almaty celebrated the jubilee of Astana

Almaty, June 11, 2008, Khabar -Thousands of the Almaty's residents gathered on the Abai's square before the Palace of Republic, where pop stars effervesced spirits of the audience. Many songs were devoted to Astana, the capital city of Kazakhstan.
The Almaty city's Akim Akhmetzhan Essimov congratulated the gathering on the Astana's jubilee and noted that love and pride of the capital city live in every patriot's heart.
Akhmetzhan Essimov, Akim of Almaty: - Astana is a symbol of the prosperity of Kazakhstan and its achievements for the period of independence. From the ancient times, Sary-Arka, the golden steppe, where Astana is located, has been considered as the land promised, where beauty of the infinite wormwood steppe, the pearl lakes of Kokshetau, and the green mountains of Boraldai were combined. Now, when Kazakhstan has been reviving as a new, independent state, this sacred land became a cross place for historical initiatives.
The celebration ended with a grandiose salute to cheers of the celebration's guests. (Khabar Agency)
