Celebration devoted to the jubilee of the capital city
North-Kazakhstan region, June 11, 2008, Khabar - In North-Kazakhstan, festive arrangements devoted to the 10-year anniversary of Astana have begun.
You can see the young capital city with the eyes of a child at a thematic exhibition of children's pictures and hear the city's history in the regional museum.
Currently, Astana is not only a dynamically developing city of Kazakhstan, but also a symbol of the independency and prosperity of the country- those who have been in Astana once at least say.
Anatoly Nargekenas, resident of Petropavlovsk city:
- There are so many styles, so many buildings, architectural constructions, and monuments. I have begun to believe that Astana will become younger and more beautiful with every year passes.
Thousands of Petropavlovsk city' residents gathered on the central square to congratulate each other on the 10-anniversary of Astana. The main event of the celebration was the Festival of Martial Arts - karate, kickboxing, Muai thai, and taekwondo. More young people have begun to prefer healthy lifestyle, and they are who raise a Kazakhstan's flag at international tournaments.
Malik Murzalin, president, Association of Martial Arts:
- It is not a common festival. We have organised it to devote the 10-year anniversary of our capital city, Astana. I believe that our youth should be healthy, strong, and purposeful, as our President said.
"With love to Astana" gala concert continued the celebration, where the region's best musical groups performed, which will soon perform in the capital city too. The region has been preparing another present to Astana. A new public garden will be opened in the capital city, as a present from North-Kazakhstan. (Khabar Agency)
