Kashagan field is expected to produce 4 to 7 million tons of oil this year. Commissioning operations are still underway in Kashagan, and the oil production makes up 180,000 barrels per day. The number of wells is growing gradually. At present, there are 10 operational wells out of 40 drilled on the artificial islands. The daily output will grow progressively to 370,000 barrels per day. As stated at the North Caspian Operating Company, Kashagan oil will be exported worldwide via three pipelines, with no delivery issues.

Today there are three routes available. The first one is for CPC pipeline the oil in this case is exported to Novorossiysk. The other route is through the KTO network for Atyrau-Samara pipeline. And then the third rout is rout East which connect Atyrau with Alashtau.

Not only Kashagan oil will require additional expansion. Bruno Jardin has first reported about the development of offshore fields Kalamkas and Khazar near Kashagan. Their reserves are estimated at 60-70 million tons of oil.

Is now looked as a joint development, development of field that’s responsibility we have on the North Caspian CPC but also Kazakh field that is under responsibility of CMC Consortium. We are looking again at how we can do that economically.

Oil production was resumed in Kashagan in September, 2016. In January, 2017, the amount of safe production and exports from the field amounted to 1 million tons of crude oil and condensate.
