This year marks the 88th anniversary of establishment of the Mongolian Aviation.
Since May 25, 1925, when the transport plane presented by the USSR to Mongolia landed in Mongolia for the first time, this is officially considered as day of establishment of Mongolian Aviation. Later, in 1946 the Civil Air Transport Unit with seven planes of higher class was founded, thus domestic civil air transport service has been started. Nowadays, Mongolian Civil Air Transport is developing within a broad range connecting world continents.
Mongolia, as the landlocked country with vast territory, determined the air transport sector as the priority of social and economical development.
The development of the Civil Air Transport is followed by extending of foreign relations of Mongolia. Currently, one state-owned and over 10 private air transport companies conduct domestic and international flights in accordance with international standard.
As a result of intensive development of mining sector of Mongolia having great natural resources, the number of domestic flights is increasing. It is one of the basic reasons for creation of new air transport companies in the country. Also, the number of the foreign tourists to enjoy with the beautiful nature, rich historical and cultural heritages of Mongolians increases every year, which rightly requires developing more the air transport services. In this regard, national airlines pay more and more attention to the fleet innovation, flight direction and frequency, and other services so as to improve the quality and quantity of domestic and international flights. Thus, not only the airports in local area are developed, but also new airports are built
Today, Mongolian aviators meet their jubilee with proud of that they could create a lot of airline companies capable to conduct the regular, chartered, transit and direct flights to many countries of the world, as well as render high quality services of world standard.
