19th Asian Games: Qatar Defeat Hong Kong 3-1, Qualifies for Next Round of Volleyball Competition

Hangzhou, September 21 (QNA) - The Qatari volleyball team qualified for the second round of the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou after defeating Hong Kong 3-1 on Thursday, scoring (25-21, 25-13, 22-25 and 25-21). The team's head coach is Camilo Soto and includes the players Mubarak Dahi, Bilal Abunabot, Mohamed Walid, Rahimi, Osman Abdulwahid, Youssef Oughlaf, Renan Ribeiro, Milos Stevanovic, Nikola Vasic, Ibrahim Mohamed, Naji Mahmoud, Ahmed Gamal and Borislav. After the match, player Osman Abdulwahid expressed his happiness with the win and qualifying for the next round. He promised that the team will do their best in the next stage and that they are aiming to continue winning and obtain the gold medal. He added that the team is aware of the strength of the other teams and therefore more effort and focus are required which the players are slowly getting accustomed to with each match, as well as other conditions such as the time difference between Doha and China. On his part, player Mohamed Walid said that the main goal of the team is to give the best possible performance in the 19th Asian Games to reach the gold medal. He also said that the competitions won't be easy, but the players are physically and psychologically prepared to achieve their goals. (QNA)
