Al-Swaha Discusses Expanding Growth of Digital Economy Digital Government with Ministers, Officials

Riyadh, October 11, 2023, SPA – A Saudi delegation representing digital economy, space and innovation, headed by Minister of Communications and Information Technology Eng. Abdullah Al-Swaha has held several meetings with international ministers and UN officials to open new scopes of cooperation in fields related to the digital economy, developing the space industry, and empowering digital entrepreneurship.
Al-Swaha met with the Japanese Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications, Junji Suzuki, and the Japanese Minister for Digital Transformation, Kono Taro, where the meetings addressed means to boost the growth of the digital economy, advance digital capabilities, encourage technological investments and develop the digital government. He also met with UK Minister of State for Data and Digital Infrastructure Sir John Whittingdale over means to enhance partnership between the two counties in the fields of digital economy growth, innovation and research and development.
At two separate meetings with Secretary-General of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Doreen Bogdan-Martin and Under-Secretary-General for Economic and Social Affairs Li Junhua, the minister discussed prospects for expanding effective partnerships and existing initiatives to support the growth of the region's digital economy.
