Aman Center Organizes Awareness Lecture At QU In Celebration Of International Women's Day

Doha, March 07 (QNA) - Protection and Social Rehabilitation Centre (Aman), a subsidiary of Qatar Foundation for Social Work, organized a lecture on mental health and self-management awareness, as part of the center's celebrations of International Women's Day, which annually falls on March 8. Presented by Dr. Dalia Mo'men from the Rehabilitation Department at Aman Center at Qatar University (QU), the lecture aims to increase awareness and educate female students about issues related to women, in addition to introducing them to the role and services of the Aman Center in how to provide protection and social rehabilitation for the target groups of women, children, and victims of family disintegration from violence. An introductory pavilion was allocated to explain to the students the role and services of Aman Center, as well as to answer the students' inquiries through the presence of a team specialized in the field of social, psychological and legal protection. The celebration was attended by Executive Director of Aman Center Sheikh Dr. Nasser bin Ahmed Al-Thani, Dean of College of Education at QU Sheikha Dr. Hessa bint Hamad Al-Thani, Assistant CEO of Qatar Foundation for Social Work Sheikha Sheikha bint Jassim Al-Thani, and a number of executive directors of the centers affiliated to the Qatar Foundation for Social Work, as well as a group of experts and academics interested in women's issues. Dr. Dalia Mo'men from the Rehabilitation Department at Aman Center stressed the importance of raising awareness and educating female students about the concept of mental health and its effects, and the extent of their knowledge of the basic principles of self-management, and how to gain self-confidence.
