AMAN Center Participates in Regional Dialogue with Children Event

Doha, September 26 (QNA) - The State of Qatar, represented by the Protection and Social Rehabilitation Centre (AMAN), a center of the Qatar Foundation for Social Work of the Ministry of Social Development and Family, participated in the regional dialogue with children under the title: "Violence against children and tourism" through the digital platform on the sidelines of the work of the Human Rights Council. The dialogue is in implementation of the recommendations of the 18th session of the follow-up committee to stop violence against children, headed by Iraq, and it is organized by Women, Family and Childhood Department- the Social Affairs Sector of the General Secretariat of the Arab League.
Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations Najat Maalla opened the work of the regional dialogue with children, with the participation of an elite group of heads of national mechanisms concerned with children's affairs in member states and regional and international organizations concerned with children's rights issues in the Arab region.
The AMAN Center participates through a number of children, in coordination with the Ministry of Social Development and Family. During their participation, the children stressed the importance of raising such issues, noting that violence against children in the field of tourism is an important issue to discuss, as well as highlighting solutions and challenges to eliminate all types of violence in the field of tourism.
The State of Qatar always stresses attaching great importance to the issue of promoting and protecting children's rights and considers it a priority in its development plan, which relies primarily on investing in human capital. That is why it is keen to participate in such awareness-raising forums, whether at the local or international levels.
The State of Qatar also affirms keenness to provide the necessary infrastructure and the appropriate healthy environment to ensure a healthy upbringing for all children on its territory. (QNA)
