Arab League Hails Partnership with Qatar in Regional Review of Arab Women Development Agenda 

 

 

Cairo, March 08 (QNA) - The League of Arab States has affirmed commitment to exert efforts and cooperate with all Arab countries to improve the conditions of women in the Arab region, praising in this regard the organization of an event in partnership with the State of Qatar on the sidelines of the 67th session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women in New York on Monday, under the theme of 'Arab States under Gender Lens: Launching of the First Regional Review of the Arab Women Development Agenda 2030 after five years.

In a statement today, the Arab League indicated that International Women's Day, which is marked on March 8 each year, underlines annually the importance of women's presence in decision-making positions, especially in light of innovation and technological change, in line with the 67th session's theme of 'Innovation and technological change, and education in the digital age for achieving gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls'.

It affirmed its keenness to move forward in implementing the agenda of women, security and peace to ensure a decent and safe life for women in the Arab region so that they can enjoy their full human rights. (QNA)
