35 textile operators are developing fashion, lifestyle products under 10 brands

BANGKOK, July 26 (TNA) -- The Department of Industrial Promotion, the Thailand Textile Institute, the Office of SMEs Promotion (OSMEP) and 35 textile operators are developing innovative products under 10 brands. Pornthep Karnsub, deputy director-general of the department, said his department received a budget from the OSMEP to implement the project to develop Thailand’s fashion and lifestyle products with advice from the textile institute. “It is the first time that 35 upstream, midstream and downstream operators in the Thai textile industry are collaboratively applying technologies and innovations to develop products. Competitors become business partners and their collaboration will meet fashion and lifestyle demands,” Mr Pornthep said. The ten brands comprise PASAYA, EQUINOX, in nine, PERMA HealCA, MAI SILK SKINCARE, Shuffle’, K Shoes, MANEESILP, GRANDSPORT, and GTK9. The project is developing about 50 product items including raincoats-cum-tents, heat-detecting cycling clothing, maternity clothing and bedding with collagen, anti-bacterial bedding, silk face masks, and antifungal shoes. The products will be promoted locally and internationally. Knowledge from the project will be shared in the Fashion CEOs Summit in the Industry Expo 2017 set at the Impact Challenger exhibition halls in Nonthaburi province on July 25-30. (TNA)
