ADB Set To Finish Development Of Ciujung River Area

Serang, Banten, July 16 (Antara) - The Manila-based Asian Development Bank (ADB) hopes to finish work to develop area on the Ciujung river bank in the sub-district of Keragilan, Banten, in 2015 to protect the area from more flooding. Eric Quincieu, a specialist of the Water Resources Management Representative of ADB , said the damage caused by a recent flooding caused by swelling water from the Ciujung river was quite serious. Therefore, ADB would support efforts by the government in this case the public works ministry to prevent a recurrence of the disaster, Eric Quincieu said here on Tuesday. ADB will provide financial support, Eric said at a meeting with Serang city and district and regional officials. If the process of cooperation goes as expected, ADB was confident the project could be wrapped up in 2015. he said.
