AED292.5 million in deals at UMEX, SimTEX

ABU DHABI, 26th February, 2018 (WAM) -- Nine deals worth AED292,492,547 were signed on the second day of the 3rd edition of the Unmanned Systems Exhibition and Conference, UMEX, and the Simulation Exhibition and Conference, SimTEX, the organisers announced at a press conference at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, ADNEC, on Monday. The agreements, including the establishment of a training centre and purchase of aircraft and technical support systems, were signed by the UAE Armed Forces and a number of private UAE-based and foreign companies. Among the deals was one with the Canadian Company CAE to establish a training centre for remotely-operated systems, at a cost of AED157 million, according to Major Saeed Mohamed Al Yamahi, the UMEX and SimTex spokesman. Three UAE-based companies signed deals, ADASI, which has been awarded two contracts worth a total of AED88,562,100, Trust International and International Golden Group. Others to win contracts included Denel Dynamics of South Africa; Sky Pro of Lebanon; Motion Reality Incorporated MRI of USA; and INOVEX Simulation and Training Ltd of Switzerland. The three-day UMEX and SimTEX event will conclude tomorrow with live displays at Al Ain Airport.
