APLAC/PAC meeting to be held in June

BANGKOK, May 29 (TNA) -- As the Thai government is implementing 4.0 policy for sustainable economic and social development, it is hosting a meeting aimed at putting in place policies and regulations to facilitate trade and investment among countries in Asia and the Pacific, said Pisit Rangsaritwutikul, secretary-general of Industry Ministry’s Thai Industrial Standards Institute (TISI). The APLAC/PAC Joint Annual Meeting will be held between June 16-24 at a Bangkok hotel. It will be jointly hosted by TISI and several other government agencies and about 250 persons are expected to participate. Deputy Prime Minister Somkid Jatusripitak will preside over the opening of the meeting on June 19. Also, a seminar on the importance of accreditation of work system in future will be organised and several foreign chiefs of important organisations will exchange their views on how their countries recognise accreditation and its future trends for use in facilitating trade and investment in global platform. Mr Pisit said that the upcoming meeting will pave ways for Thailand to display its potential on accreditation to participating Asia-Pacific countries. Also, it will give opportunity to participants to exchange knowledge on accreditation, he added. (TNA)
