BILL SUBMITTED TO EXEMPT IMPORTED ENERGY FROM DUTY

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/On December 14, Minister of Energy and MP Ts.Davaasuren submitted to the Parliament Speaker M.Enkhbold a Bill on Exemptions of imported energy from Customs Duty and VAT, which was considered and supported by the Government. The Bill reads that energy being imported by ‘Western energy system’ state-owned company from Russia and China will be exempted from customs duty and VAT. ‘Western energy system’ state-owned company distributes energy to Khovd, Uvs and Bayan-Ulgii aimags and some soums of Gobi-Altai aimag. Currently, 72 percent of the company’s total energy distribution is provided with imported energy whilst 28 percent is supplied by Durgun Hydropower Plant. M. Unurzul
