BNI Determined To Support Sustainable Development

Jakarta, Dec 18 (Antara) - The PT Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI) is determined to support the government`s sustainable development concept, which is oriented toward economic development, job creation, poverty alleviation and Nature conservation. A press release from BNI on Tuesday stated that as a business entity, it would support the sustainable development concept by balancing financial performance with Nature conservation and by supporting people`s empowerment program, known as "triple track performance" because it refers to the "triple bottom line principles." According to the BNI press release, climatic change, the negative impact of declining environmental quality, has become the main global issue and has to be dealt with. "Indonesia has taken seriously, the problems related to climate changes and is committed to reducing its carbon emission by 26 to 41 percent by 2020," stated the press release. BNI`s commitment in supporting the sustainable development concept is apparent from its mission to raise awareness and its responsibility to solve social and environmental issues. The mission is being followed by applying sustainable principle through business, non business, internal and external approaches.
