Bright prospect for Thai exporters after more Russians switch to instant food

BANGKOK, Aug 20 (TNA) -- More Russians are switching to instant food and simultaneously concentrate on condition of their health, said Malee Choklumlerd, director-general of International Trade Promotion Department. Food consumption by Russians, according to a 2016 survey, also found that 27 per cent of Russian consumers ate lesser sugar, up from 22 per cent in 2015, 17 per cent of consumers took lesser salt, an increase from 13 per cent, and 57 per cent demanded a decrease of food additive substances to 57 per cent, up from 49 per cent. Simultaneously, Kittinand Yingcharoen, director of International Trade Promotion office in Moscow, said if affordable, a large number of Russian people prefer to have their meals at restaurants. But because of high price of foods, the number of consumers at the restaurants have shrunk, said Mr Kittinand. The price of the food is the major factor for the Russian consumers will consider when go out for eating followed by restaurant locations, food deliciousness and services, he added. (TNA)
