CAPITAL CITY ADOPTS 2018 BUDGET

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Citizens’ Representative Khural of Ulaanbaatar adopted the 2018 Budget of the capital city during its irregular meeting on December 4.
The 2018 Budget projects revenue of MNT 800 billion 356 million, increased by MNT 81.4 billion than the 2017 budget. The capital city is expected to accumulate MNT 208 billion to state budget.
The budget recurrent expenditure amounts to MNT 342 billion with inclusion of expenses such as MNT 35.9 billion on free bus passes for 100.5 thousand students, elders, disabled persons and police officers, MNT 78.9 billion on service and refurbishment works, 107.1 billion on Social Welfare Fund, MNT 5.2 billion on crime prevention, MNT 16.1 billion on implementation of the General Guidelines for the social and economic development of the capital city in 2018, MNT 14.4 billion on assistance to Microbusiness Promotion Fund, MNT 1.5 billion on assistance to SMEs Promotion Fund.
In 2018, investment worth MNT 111 billion 585 million is expected to be made from the capital city budget.
Social sector will receive investment of MNT 18 billion 771.4 million whereas MNT 6 billion 924 million will be allocated in education sector with projection of works such as commissioning of 7 kindergarten buildings with total capacity of 1,310 beds.
MNT 8 billion 373 million will be allocated in health sector to be spent on commissioning of Emergency Medical Service Centre of Chingeltei district and a 40-bed hospital in Bagakhangai district and construction of Health Center in Tuul village.
MNT 3 billion 474 million will be spent in social welfare, and MNT 3 billion 950 million in environment sector.
MNT 72 billion 823 million is projected for urban development whereas MNT 3 billion will be spent on improvement of air quality within the frameworks of ‘Smoke-free Ulaanbaatar’ program.
The Ulaanbaatar Road Fund will provide finance of MNT 36 billion 862.9 million as the Bicycle Road program continues.
