Car imports from Georgia to Azerbaijan almost triple

Azerbaijan, Baku, August 20 /Trend, E.Aliyev/ Around 1900 cars worth a total of $189.55 million were exported from Georgia to Azerbaijan in the first six months of 2013, according to a report posted on website of GruzStat (National Statistical Service of Georgia). According to the report, the specific weight of this category of goods amounted to 56.95 per cent of the total volume of exports from Georgia to Azerbaijan. The volume of car exports from Georgia increased by 25.85 per cent and quantitatively by 29.53 per cent compared to the same period of 2012. For comparison 15,400 cars were exported from Georgia to Azerbaijan which amounted to $150.62 million in January-June, 2012. Around 1780 trucks were exported to Azerbaijan worth a total amount of $11.92 million in the first six months of 2013 which is 28.64 per cent lower (quantitatively by 15.14 per cent more) compared to the same period of 2012. For comparison around 1540 trucks amounting to $16.7 million were exported from Georgia to Azerbaijan in first six months of 2012. In January-June, 2013, around $332.81 million (worth of goods was exported from Georgia to Azerbaijan. This was 26.9 per cent of the total volume of the country's exports during the reported period. According to the report, exports to Azerbaijan increased by 17.5 per cent compared to the same period of 2012.
