Commerce Ministry is quickly surveying flood damage

BANGKOK, July 31 (TNA) -- The Business Development Department and members of its MOC Biz Club are ready to help flood-affected operators. Lalita Jiwananthaprawat, deputy director-general of the department, said commerce officials were surveying flood-affected operators and about 9,000 members of the department’s MOC Biz Club would help affected operators after flooding ended. Mrs Lalitla also said that Commerce Minister Apiradi Tantraporn ordered provincial commerce officials to watch out for any operators who might take opportunities to increase their product prices so that legal action could be taken against any unfair pricing. Besides, the Commerce Ministry has asked the operators of modern trade and convenience stores such as Makro, Tesco Lotus, Big C Supercenter and 7-Eleven to quickly distribute consumer products in flood-affected areas to meet victims’ need. When flooding was relieved, the Commerce Ministry would supply products with discounts under its blue-flag cheap product campaign to flood-affected areas, she said. In another development, the Business Development Department organizes the Smart Enterprise 4.0 fair to promote the networking of small and medium-sized enterprises and startups. The fair focuses on logistics, marketing, finance, accounting and e-commerce. In the fair, operators could learn about the application of digital technologies to develop products and services. The fair highly interests SMEs and startups. (TNA)
